Incentive Mechanisms in University-Level Entrepreneurship Education: Content analysis of Stakeholder Interviews

摘要：With the growing emphasis on business growth and entrepreneurship, innovation and entrepreneurship education has become increasingly important in higher education. Despite greater support for entrepreneurship education, there is still a gap between expectations and outcomes. This study examines the motivations, incentives and behavioral choices available to stakeholders in university-level entrepreneurship education in China. Fifty three interviews are conducted with stakeholder groups such as government officials, university administrators, teachers and students. The UNICENT software and NetDraw tool were used to content analyze the interviews and construct semantic maps of key concepts. The results demonstrate incentive incompatibilities, inefficient translation of policy objectives into educational programs, and information asymmetry between groups. The government emerges as a key player in entrepreneurship education, but deficiencies in the feedback mechanisms create problems for multi-stakeholder collaboration.
